NAW Industries · Nic Wirch

I build things that solve problems.

Software, properties, websites, workflows, businesses, and the occasional idea that probably started with: there has to be a better way to do this.

Building Software Systems Design Small Business
About Me

Somewhere between a builder, developer, designer, and professional tinkerer.

I'm Nic Wirch. I have always been fascinated by how things work — and even more interested in what can be done when they do not work as well as they should.

Sometimes that means opening up code and tracing a problem through a system. Sometimes it means standing in a house figuring out why something failed. Sometimes it means looking at a business process and wondering why everyone has accepted doing something the hard way.

Most of what I build starts there.

One skillset, several industries

My background crosses web development, graphic design, residential construction, home inspection, project coordination, small-business operations, and software development. They may look unrelated on paper, but to me they are different versions of the same process: understand the system, identify the problem, and build a better solution.

Why real-world work matters to my tech work

I like tools that survive contact with reality. Working around properties, contractors, customers, scheduling, bids, materials, jobs, and all the little things that go sideways gives me a very different perspective on what software and systems actually need to do.

Where NAW fits into all of this

NAW Industries is the umbrella over my professional work, experiments, projects, and creations. It is not meant to be one narrowly defined business. It is the place where the different things I build connect.

What I Do

Different disciplines. Same instinct.

I tend to work at the intersection of physical work, digital systems, and practical problem solving.

01

Build & Improve

Property repairs, installations, maintenance, diagnostics, inspection-related corrections, project guidance, and the hands-on work that keeps me connected to how things function in the real world.

02

Design & Develop

Websites, interfaces, graphics, brands, and digital experiences. I like design that feels intentional, communicates clearly, and does not get in the user's way.

Systems & Software

I build tools around actual workflows — especially the messy parts of small-business operations that traditional software tends to flatten into generic forms and menus.

Diagnose & Simplify

Whether it is code, a property, a workflow, or an organization, I enjoy tracing a problem back to its cause and turning complexity into something understandable and useful.

PhaserOnline

A business operations platform built around the way contractors and service businesses actually work.

Phaser has grown from a proposal and scope-building tool into a much broader operating system: scheduling, jobs, forms, time tracking, files, inventory, assets, partner relationships, customer workflows, billing, AI-assisted tools, and more.

The common thread is simple: remove friction without removing flexibility.

Resolve Property Services

The real-world side of how I think: practical property work, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and unusual problems that need a clear path forward.

Resolve keeps me hands-on with the systems people live and work around every day. It also gives me a front-row seat to the scheduling, estimating, communication, materials, documentation, and coordination problems that influence a lot of what I build in software.

Experiments & Side Projects

Measurement tools, AI-assisted workflows, directories, hardware ideas, real-estate concepts, community projects, and the many “what if we built…” ideas that occasionally become something much bigger.

Selected Work

Things I've designed, developed, and put into the world.

Not everything has to become a company. Some work is client work, some is experimental, and some simply exists because I wanted to see if I could make it.

How I Think

I like understanding the why.

The medium changes. The principles usually do not.

01

Understand the system.

Before changing something, understand what it is doing, who depends on it, and why it exists in the first place.

02

Fix the actual problem.

A prettier version of a broken process is still a broken process. Find the friction before designing the solution.

03

Design for the person using it.

Software, buildings, websites, and businesses all ultimately have users. Their reality matters more than the diagram.

04

Leave it better.

It is a pretty good rule for code, properties, workflows, businesses, and communities.

Let's Connect

I'm usually building something.
